About Dr. Satyajit Debnath

Dr. Satyajit Debnath is a distinguished Bharatanatyam artist, choreographer, researcher, and educator with a lifelong dedication to Indian classical dance. He began his training at the age of three under the guidance of his mother, Smt. Tulsi Debnath, and later honed his skills under eminent gurus in the field. He holds a Master’s degree in Performing Arts (Bharatanatyam) and a Ph.D., focusing on the traditional and modern aspects of the dance form.

A Doordarshan-graded (B-Grade) artist, Dr. Debnath has performed widely across India and internationally, participating in prestigious festivals and cultural events. In addition to his performance career, he has extensive teaching experience and currently serves as a dance educator in Odisha.

He is also an active researcher with several publications in reputed journals and has created notable choreographic works such as Dasaavataaram and Navarasa Ramayana. Through his performances, teaching, and research, he continues to promote and preserve the rich heritage of Bharatanatyam.
